As part of the Nassau County Police Department’s “Project 21” initiative - which targets the sale of alcoholic beverages and tobacco to minors - conducted on Thursday, Jan. 9 with an underage agent, clerks in Massapequa sold alcohol to two minors.
According to police, Mohammad Mohsin Reza, 52, of Wantagh, sold alcohol to a minor at the Mobil gas station on Carmans Road; and Bhupenchandra Makwana, 53, of New Hyde Park, sold to the underage agent at the Arturo Smokeshop on Merrick Road.
Both Reza and Makwana were issued a ticket charging them with the prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage. Both are scheduled to appear in First District Court in Hempstead on Monday, Jan. 27.
